DATA LITERACY COURSE
Your first step towards Data Analytics / Data Science / Machine Learning
A 4-week course that teaches the basics of data analytics using Excel and PowerBi:
Week 1: Introduction to Data Analytics
- Overview of data analytics and its applications
- Basic statistical concepts and techniques
- Data visualization best practices
- Introduction to Excel for data analysis
Week 2: Excel for Data Analysis
- Understanding Excel spreadsheets and workbooks
- Working with data in Excel, including sorting, filtering, and grouping
- Basic Excel functions for data analysis, including SUM, AVERAGE, and COUNT
- Creating charts and graphs in Excel for data visualization
- Creating a dashboard with Excel
Week 3: Introduction to Power BI
- Overview of Power BI and its capabilities
- Connecting to data sources in Power BI
- Creating basic visualizations in Power BI
- Formatting and customizing visualizations in Power BI
Week 4: Advanced Data Analytics Techniques
- Introduction to DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for Power BI
- Final project: Analyzing and presenting insights from a real-world data set using Power BI
- Data Analytics career Q&A
Each week, students would attend 2 hours of live classes. The classes would include a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises. By the end of the course, students would have a strong foundation in data analytics and be able to apply basic Excel and Power BI skills to analyze and present data effectively.
